I scheduled a consultation on a whim because the pain I was experiencing from my wisdom teeth was starting to interfere with my day to day life. I'll be honest, the dentist office is usually my least favorite of health related visits, but the team at the Centre for Dental Excellence blew me away. Until my visit, I'd be seeing the same dentist for 22 years, but I graduated and moved away from home. Firstly, Kelly was incredibly helpful with getting me scheduled as I was having trouble finding a member ID for my dental insurance, which she ended up finding for me. Second, I was thrilled when Dr.Dunham told me they could do the extraction the same day. I was nervous because I'd heard horror stories from friends about when they had their wisdom teeth removed. The procedure was quick and painless, and I was able to drive myself home. The numb feeling wore off around 6 hours post op, and the facial swelling was also gone around the same time. I didn't feel the need to take the pain medication until much later in the evening. I'm now over 24hrs post op, minimal soreness, no swelling, no bleeding. In fact the soreness I feel now doesn't even come close to the pain I was feeling the entire week before the extraction. I'm very happy with my choice in the Centre for Dental Excellence. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

I became a patient of Dr. Dunham through a program called Va Donated Dentist. Although everything he’s doing to my teeth was 100% voluntary, he takes his time and made sure my teeth will look it’s best afterwards. We made my teeth imprints today. I can’t wait to see my new smile that this Gentle Dentist has helped me restore. The staff there are very nice and friendly. I would tell anybody about them. It’s an Awesome Dentistry.

This was the best experience we ever had at a dental office. Took my son in for an emergency appointment. Professional...friendly...treated us like family. Very caring and explained everything easy to understand. Great atmosphere. Thank you to the entire staff for making us feel extremely comfortable.

I stopped going to dentist after retired from Navy till had couple teeth breaking up. It was over 10 years and shouldn't have waited that long.
I called Dr Dunham's and office Mgr Debbie was very nice and got me quick appt.
After exam looked like needed root canal and 4 crowns.
Decided to have root canal and 2 crowns done on same visit.
The best part is when Dr Dunham doing work drilling found didn't need root canal and just the 2 crowns so he saved me money plus much un needed pain.
That gave me alot of trust in him.
I also had gum disease and got appt's with Lorrie that is excellent for that and she cleaned up my dirty mouth with deep cleaning coulple times and seem to be all set now.
They are the best dentist place I have ever had and all staff are excellent.

It doesn't get any better! I have two issues (that I am willing to discuss here):
1. I am a CHF patient and recently celebrated my 10th
anniversary of life.
2. I have dental phobia!!!
During my hospital stay at the Norfolk Heart Transplant Center in 2006, the importance of dental health and its contribution to good heart health was explained time and again. I was convinced that without good oral health, my life expectancy would decrease proportionately.
Until last fall, I still had not overcome my "DENTAL PHOBIA". My wife and son are both patients of Dr. Dunham and had been encouraging me to make an appointment with him because my teeth and gums were suffering from lack of dental care.
Reluctantly, I made that all important first appointment (step) in overcoming my fear of dentists. During my first appointment with Dr. Dunham we discussed the condition of my teeth and gums and how important it is to maintain good oral health (whether or not you are a CHF patient). Dr. Dunham and I struck a deal. That deal? You don't hurt me, I'll be back. You hurt me, I'll have to take my chances with my CHF.
I have had a couple of extractions, root canals, a bridge and a couple of crowns since I started the treatment plan Dr. Dunham and his staff laid out for me.
That was 18 Months ago and I am still a patient. You couldn't find a nicer staff if you tried and Dr. Dunham has kept his end of the bargain.
DENTAL PHOBIA? Here is your fix. 10 STARS!
