There are not enough words of praise to tell you how wonderful Millennium of Freehold is. I used the internet service to make an appointment and received a response, complete with appointment for the day I wanted, within an hour. Later I discovered that I needed to reschedule. Again, I was called almost immediately; the staff was friendly, helpful, accommodating, and seemed not the least inconvenienced by my request. On-line check-in was easy; my arrival at the office was also seamless; I was directed to the proper area of the parking area and was greeted almost five minutes later. All in all, I could not be any more impressed by the staff and facilities of this office. You are simply the BEST!
In terms of my medical care, I could not be more pleased or feel more comfortable with the high quality of my care than I receive from Dr. Schneider and Dr. Ng. They have seen me through some pretty tough times, and I have always felt that that they have provided me with complete information and have been committed to giving me the best possible care. Today's appointment was with Dr. Ng; she is a truly compassionate caregiver who is a true professional in every sense of the word. She has a way of making me feel as if I am the one person she was hoping to see today and always takes an interest in me and takes time to answer my questions, She is a true credit to her profession and is an excellent representative of Millennium; she is truly a most special person. Thank you!

They are fraud. As soon as you say you have VSP, they want our medical insurance and your social, I asked why you need medical, they said if something is wrong with your eyes we will need medical and hung up on me. I smell they are forced to take VSP.

Cataract surgery BLUNDER!!!

Jasmeeta Patel caused much stress, pain and anxiety after botching a routine cataract surgery!!! This so called health care professional has yet to reach out to her patient with any offer of apology and had the audacity to assume her patient would return for a second surgery after completely screwing up the first one! HEARTLESS, COMPASSIONLESS!!!!!!!

Great Experience at Genesis Eyewear in Freehold

I visitedGenesis Eyewear to pick out new eyeglass frames on 10/28/2021. Inez Rosamilia was incredibly helpful. She picked out a wide array of frames that might suit me and helped me choose the ones that worked best for me. Inez was also very clearly explained my insurance benefits. Picking out frames can be daunting but Inez made the experience pleasurable. I highly recommend her.

Missed diagnosis, detached retina

I had gone to Millennium Eye Care to check to see if I was experiencing a detached retina. I saw Dr. Steven Mishkin who examined my eyes and told me that everything looked good. The day after I saw him I had a gut feeling that something was still very wrong so I contacted my PCP who referred me to another eye group. Within a few minutes I was told that I did have a detached retina and was sent immediately to see the retina specialist. Had I listened to Dr. Mishkin I could have lost the vision in that eye. I don't understand how a man who has been practicing all these years could miss something so obvious. Needless to say I'm never stepping foot into that office again.

I have been having problems with my eyes I made an appointment as I was having trouble with my lazy eye. I met with Dr. Rebecca who instantly put my mind at ease and work with me on a prescription and help me get back to some normalcy. After getting my glasses a few weeks later, I realized this was the absolute best pair I had ever had had it almost instantly Corrected my issue. I can’t thank the doctor and the staff enough for everything they did.

I don't feel I had a through eye exam having trouble seeing out of new glasses. Gail Vance was very attentive to my needs. We picked out a nice frame, but, I'm having trouble with the adjustments, the frame is very uncomfortable.

Dr. Mishkin performed cataract surgery of the right eye. I did all the follow up appointments and at each appt I told him it felt like there was a film over part of my eye. My vision was better than with the cataract but definitely not as good as my left eye. At my last appt, even after I again said I had blurry vision and felt like a film was over part of my eye, he said everything looks good, see you in a year! I have recently received a second opinion and they immediately found that vitreous gel had leaked to the front of my lens. I now have a surgery scheduled with a retinal specialist to correct this issue.

Annual eye exams

My family of four has been going to see Dr. Sonenblum for several years. Very thorough exam and answers all ques. Genesis EyeWear in the Freehold & EW office are helpful with answering ques., suggesting frames, and will adjust your frames at any time if needed. The contact lens dept. in EW office is helpful too. We like the streamlined Phressia check in process before the appt. too. Emails are returned quickly too.

I would like to thank Gail Vance for her assistance. She was most knowledgeable and patient in assisting me with updating the prescription in numerous pairs of glasses following cataracts surgery. Her suggestions were on point and she made sure that I was most satisfied with the fit and comfort of each pair, even though it did take quite a while to go through all of the frames. She was most respectful of Covid protocols. I would highly recommend her should you need either a full new prescription or replacement lenses.

botched up surgery

Re: Your Invoices for $35.59 and $255.39
On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, you performed a cataract surgery on my right eye. Over the many weeks following, I continued to experience increased pain and irritation in the eye and needed to wear a patch. After nine weeks of pain and blindness, I had no choice but to seek medical care in South Carolina.
The physician in South Carolina explained that there was such a problem with my eye, that I would need an additional surgery to try to correct the damage caused by your procedure. Needless to say, I not only endured unnecessary pain and suffering from your surgery, but then had to have another surgery to correct your blunder. Treatment with the new surgeon began on December 30, 2020 and is ongoing. This not only caused me more pain and discomfort and recuperation time, but also additional cost.

Now I am being harassed and threatened to be turned over to collections by your office to pay a bill for a botched-up surgery that only caused me harm. I absolutely will not pay you for the damage that you did to my eye and for pain that I endured for months on end. I suggest that you speak to your billing personnel and let them know that my balance will not be paid and should be written off. However, if I receive another bill or any harassing correspondence regarding a balance with your office, I will have no recourse but to seek legal advice and a malpractice lawyer.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to write one for Gail Vance! My Uncle was there to have his eyes checked to make sure the glasses he had (which were broken) were the correct script. He lives in an assisted living facility and is not able to communicate clearly due to a stroke he suffered about 10 years ago. It turns out, the glasses he had were very close to what he needed, but he had to go to see a specialist in 2 weeks…so the doctor suggested holding off on getting a new pair of glasses until after he sees the specialist. I felt bad that he had to go without, so we were going to get a pair just to get him through…Gail asked if he had his old glasses and he did…the arm of one side was broken off. She took one look at them and said…I can fix these…be right back!
15 minutes later she was back with his glasses fixed and did not charge us anything! I can not believe that she would do that! My uncle and I are so thankful that he will have a functioning pair of glasses now…and if needed…we will buy a new pair from Gail after he sees the specialist!!

Almost perfect

Overall our visit was excellent. Debbie went above and beyond with scheduling and insurance matters, she was extremely friendly both over the phone and in person. The doctor was down to earth and we were in and out quickly. The nurse could have been friendlier; it was apparent she was there to “do her job” and annoyed easily. One person doesn’t change my opinion of the entire place, perhaps she was having a bad day...

This is the most despicable experience that I ever have. They could not bill the insurance correctly. I have to make 4 -5 times conference calls between insurance and Christina from their office which is the specialist for billing. I asked to go to the bathroom after my office visit , the doctor refused. I will never be back there again.

I visited the East Windsor location for my annual eye exam. I was promptly greeted by Debbie S., the receptionist. She made my check-in quick and easy. Alongside of her was Debbie B., who was my technician. They were both friendly and enthusiastic and made a very nice first impression. Debbie B. and I had a nice conversation, in the exam room, and she did an admirable job of her portion of my eye exam. The final portion of my eye exam was performed by Dr. Martin Schneider, the very capable ophthalmologist I have seen for the last several years. As always, he was professional, engaging, and caring. I never felt rushed and he fully answered all my questions. When leaving the office, both Debbies wished me well and today was a very pleasant experience due to their amiable disposition and interested demeanor and the competence of Dr. Schneider.

My wife & I went to visit the Eye glasses and Frames Section at the Freehold Office and were courteously greeted by Ms. Vance. She explained the process of selecting and wearing glasses very elegantly and we both ordered frames and eye glasses after just 15 minutes or so. She is the most professional & knowledgeable person we have seen in any optical store in the last three decades !

Gail Vance - Genesis Eye Wear - Jackson, NJ exhibited excellent customer. I need to purchase eyeglasses and contacted Genesis Eye Wear in Jackson and spoke to Gail. I informed Gail that I saw a designer frame at another store. Gail politely asked if I can get the Model # of the frame. To no avail, I was informed by the eyeglass store they did not provide model #'s for their glasses. Nonetheless, I was able to find a pair of the designer glasses online and provided Gail a picture of the glasses.
Gail immediately did a research on the glasses and was able to find 2 pair of the designer glasses. Once she received the glasses contacted me to try on.

Gail displayed excellent customer focus, courteous, friendly attitude, knowledgeable, helpful persona, and extra customer assistance. I have already spread the word to other's to purchase their eye wear from Genesis Eye Wear in Jackson,, NJ and ask for Gail Vance.

Gail deserves a "5 star rating!

Contact Lense fitting

Danielle gets an Excellent++. I went through your website to schedule an appointment ASAP. Danielle got back to me the next day with an appt. I also emailed back to ask for a portal access ID. She responded back via email within 15 minutes! I was able to communicate efficiently and extremely quickly via website and email but it was the excellent response time and handling of Danielle on the other side that made this experience an overwhelmingly positive one.

Once I got to the East Windsor location, I was checked in quickly (by Danielle of all people). I sat for no longer than 5 minutes before being called in by Ashley the tech. After a quick checkup Dr Makwana followed up with the fitment exam and then the contact lense tech. I then went to see Dr Makwana again and finalized everything. I then checked out and scheduled my followup with Danielle. All this took no more than 30min. It was a fantastic efficient visit. I also love the location as its well sized and has a great selection of glasses on display. Everyone I've met there (Dr Sonenblum, to Randy to all the other folks I've spoken to) have been wonderful. I'm very happy to recommend and continue using Millenium Eye Care.

Eye Glasses

I am writing this review for Gail Vance. She works at the Vision Center at Millenium Eye Care in Jackson. She was most helpful when it came to assisting me pick the right frames. Patience is her virtue. And after picking up my new glasses and wearing them for a few days, something just didn't feel right. I returned to Millenium and sat with Gail who described what was happening when I was wearing my glasses as "tunnel vision." Never new this, but the new frames had to be contoured to my old frames so everything was clear and not distorted at certain angles. You learn something new everyday. Now I am wearing my glasses daily and loving my new frames! Thank you again, Gail!!

On new year's eve I needed an emergency visit with my regular Millennium eye doctor who was not available. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Grand in East Windsor and I was so glad I did. He is a caring, down to earth, honest, professional. He assured me all was well and worked out a plan of action with me. I really liked him and was confident that, although I am not his regular patient, he had reviewed my chart and was familiar with my issues.
Britani was at the front desk - she was courteous, greeted me and thanked me for checking in online. She is always willing to assist with questions and appointments.

Dr. Schneider

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Schneider for several years and have always found him to be patient, thorough, professional and caring. He never rushes through the exam, explains issues and discusses options which I really appreciate in a physician. We also like the intake people - the ones to take you to the inner office and review your chart. They are cheerful yet professional.
The front office staff has not always been welcoming but rather terse and hurried, not acknowledging you when you come in, having you stand at the counter until they feel like recognizing that you are there. The good news is that I see that changing for the better. A patient should not have to dread approaching the front desk because they know the staff will be rude to them.
Dr. Schneider's care is what kept us at Millennium - he is so good we overlooked the front desk staff. We are pleased that positive change is happening.

I have been taking shots for macular degeneration for over a year. Dr. Ng and her staff at Millenium Eye Care is the best! There is never a wait, the staff is professional and courteous and Dr. Ng is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about my condition. She is quick to administer the shot and causes me the least discomfort possible. A special shout out to Linda at the Freehold office for her friendliness, knowledge and efficiency and for taking that extra step when it came to getting my new insurance sorted out. I can’t say enough good about Dr. Brottman! He was wonderful! He knew I was a little bit nervous, talked to me during the procedure, and was so warm and friendly. I stopped by Saturday afternoon simply hoping to find a few pair of frames that caught my eye. I had all intentions of bringing my daughter back to give her "expert" opinion for the final decision. I feel that your doctors have all been very experienced and knowledgeable. However, when speaking to my neighbors who have left your practice, the general opinion is that your offices have not been keeping up with technology. I have been told that many ophthalmologist are now using cameras for aid in examining the eyes and using the pictures for ongoing comparisons to help identify any changes with the patients eyes. Also assists the doctors with their evaluation and diagnosis.

I usually do not respond to review emails that I receive, but a comment about Dr. Potter made me think differently. Dr. Potter has been our family eye doctor since 1985. He is the eye physician for me, my husband, my two daughters, my son-in-law, and now my two grandchildren. In fact, my daughter travels from Brooklyn to see Dr. Potter. He has treated the family through allergy attacks, cataracts, strokes and numerous other eye ailments. I came to the office with a large cataract, expecting to be directed towards surgery. Dr. Schneider carefully reviewed my situation, and found that the vision in my right eye compensated for the reduced vision in in my left eye due to the cataract, indicating that I could postpone such surgery. Unlike other doctors who suggested immediate intervention, Dr. Schneider's objectivity was greatly appreciated.

Dr. Potter always take the time to thoroughly perform comprehensive eye exams and understand any issues / changes since the last visit in an non-rushed atmosphere! The office staff works collaboratively to ensure the process of check-in, initial eye checkup and outpatient billing is handled efficiently. I have been a patient of Millennium Eye Care since I was a child. I have a very odd eye condition and was seen by most specialists in the tri-state area. I have stuck with Millennium because they are the best! My doctors are so helpful and if they need assistance they have no trouble consulting doctors within the practice. My eye surgeon has since left Millennium but my regular eye doctor, Dr. Potter, is never allowed to retire! I have been a patient of his for years and plan to keep it that way! He is so kind, knowledgeable, and never rushes you out of the office if you have a concern. I am now an hour away and will continue to go to this practice. It is well worth the drive!

I have gotten older :-( I have worn glasses since age 13 ( Millennium got me my first pair ... I was NOT appreciative at that time). I started wearing contacts when I was 16, 30+ years later I am still wearing my contacts.... but needed readers to see the computer at work... I was not happy about it and needed a solution. A new optometrist there (Talia M. Mishkin, O.D) solved my problem- she got me in new contacts that eliminated my need for readers! I am truly thankful!

Dr. Kernitsky was pleasant, informative and promptly diagnosed the presence of an eye infection and advised me not to be concerned. He prescribed drops, which after several days of use eliminated the problem. Everything was handled well and I am very satisfied with the outcome.

Very professional and caring

Dr Potter took care of my eyes when I wore contacts. He was very good but then I needed cataract surgery. Dr Mishkin performed the surgery in both eyes. I am delighted with the results and recovery was minimal.

Dr Ng is excellent in her knowledge & expertise. It's her bedside manner that is disturbing. My friends & I all agree that we're afraid to ask her questions because we know she will find a way to reprimand us in her answers. She is not encouraging, understanding or supportive at all. Her style is abrupt and often condescending. So just prepare yourself before you see Dr. Ng that you will be in good hands medically but the trade-off is an unpleasant experience.
